While Banksy does have social media accounts, they were created quite late in the game. These accounts do bring in people, but his primary source of advertising is through the people that the art was directed to. The people who find comfort in his art to the promoting for him. Banksy does not need to blast his art or pay for branding, and this saves him a lot of money.
He does not need to pay for shows or advertising, So how does Banksy make money? Banksy makes money by saving money. The most ironic part is that while Banksy is probably one of the most well-known artists of the twentieth-twenty first century he has managed to stay completely anonymous. The mystery of Banksy and his identity has added to his appeal.
Banksy fans tend to be more curious as they do not know the full story. They want to know more, following and appreciating his art around the world without knowing the man.
Banksy has managed to stay relevant in a way that no other artist has in this decade. He uses social media in a way that no other artist does. Instead of operating the leading advertising of his art himself, his fans do it for him.
